Greetings Citizens of Stroud,
It is starting to look and feel like fall here. The street corners looked so good this year with flowers. Our group of volunteers have done a wonderful job and now have added fall decorations to them. I would like to say thank you to them for always making our town look so festive.
Trick or Treat Main Street will take place this year October 31st from 4:30 – 5:30. Come join the walk around and fun.
The Stroud Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Fall Festival at the Tatanka Ranch this October 18th from 12:00 -5:00. There will be food, kids’ activities and music by Loose Gravel Band. Admission is Free, so bring the family and enjoy the afternoon.
It’s time for Fall Clean-up again. The city will make the rounds the week of October 20th. Please bring all items to the curb before the 20th. Thank you for making our city such a great place to live.
The Neon Lights are nearing completion. We plan a lighting ceremony on November 15th. We will also be lighting our Christmas tree also. Mark your calendar and don’t miss the activities scheduled for that evening. More details next month.
There are always good things going on in Stroud. Thank you for being a part of that!

Greetings, Citizens of Stroud,
It is starting to feel a little like Fall and things are buzzing this month in Stroud. We continue to add neon lights to Main Street. The latest are the Old Stroud Trading Post and the Methodist Church. There are several still in various stages of construction and planning stage. Everyone is invited to be a part of the 2nd mini-lighting ceremony on September 23 from 6-8pm at the Stroud High School.
The Stroud Municipal Airport and Oklahoma Aerospace and Aeronautics will partner to present an airport runway groundbreaking ceremony on September 17th from 1:30-2:30pm. The project will increase the runway to 4000 feet and make improvements to the runway lights and taxi lanes at the airport. Please join us if you can.
The Circus is coming to town September 19th. Thanks to the Lion’s Club for sponsoring that event. There will be two shows at 5:00 and 7:30. It will take place in the parking lot at the Stroud Christian Church off Highway 99. You won’t want to miss it.
The Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their annual golf tournament. This is an event that is well put together and loved by all who participate. Thank you to the Chamber for a job well done and for the support of the golf course.
Thank you to Kirstin Chistoffel for putting together the Farmer’s Market on Main. There were 20 plus vendors on August 30 and a wide array of products and baked goods for sale. The next Farmer’s Market will be September 12th from 4:00-8:00 pm. Come out and support our local market. Good things are happening at Stroud, thanks for being a part of that

Greetings Citizens of Stroud,
The lake is busy with summer recreation and buzzing with the construction of new equestrian campsites and playgrounds. Things are really starting to come together. It has been all hands-on deck to make it happen and I want to thank city crews and lake personnel for making it happen. One of the busiest weekends at the lake is coming up August 22, 23, and 24th• The OCCRA Motor Cross kicks off that Friday and continues through the weekend. It’s a fun and competitive weekend! Last year we brought back the Miss Stroud competition after 20 years. Miss Mia-Claire Jones was Miss Stroud 2025. She has done a wonderful job representing Stroud this past year. We are blessed, grateful, and very proud of her service and all the activities she was a part of. Thank you from all of us! This Past weekend Miss Sydney Arguello was crowned Miss Stroud 2026. She is a beautiful, very talented young lady with a personal platform for Vets. We are very excited and look forward to what the future holds for her and the City of Stroud.
The neon light project is in full swing and one or two new neon signs seem to go up every week. Foster Park grants kicks off this week and we have plans to ramp that up immediately. Our grant writer Leslie Wilbourn is doing a fantastic job keeping everything flowing so smoothly.
Construction on every side of town. New houses on Sooner Drive and 6th Avenue. Midway Plaza on the turnpike, pipelines and buildings on Allied Road, and upgrades in the industrial park. These are signs of growth and good things going on in Stroud. Summer is over and kids are getting ready to go back to school. Watch out for the kids and be careful in our school zones. As always, it’s a great and exciting time to be from Stroud!

Greetings Citizens of Stroud,
I want to thank Family and Friends who came to Foster Park on July 4th to celebrate the freedoms of our great Nation. I hope all had a safe Fourth!
Thank you to the band “Loose Gravel” for another wonderful show. The music and entertainment was great as usual. Thank you to the firemen who started early in the day, preparing for the fireworks show and as always delivered a great show. The slip-n-slide was a hit with the kids and entertaining to watch. We can’t thank you enough for all that you do!
Thank you First Bank & Trust for providing hot dogs and water for everyone. Thank you to the Lions Club for their support. Thank you to Kayla Bailey for the beautiful welcome signage into the park. Thank you to GRDA for their support with the fireworks. Thank you to the city staff for all their hard work in getting the pool and park ready, a stage set up with a shade tent for the band, and then the cleaning up and tearing down when it was all over. Thank you to the City Council for their vision, support, and love for the town. I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone because it takes all of us to make an event like this successful and you all did good!

Greetings Citizens of Stroud,
The Midpoint Corridor Road Rally took place last weekend. There were well over 200 cars that came through Stroud for the Rally. Everyone had a great time, and we were able to see everything from Slingshots to Covettes participating in the event.
Next weekend, there is the Stroud Summer Festival from 10:00-4:00 on Main Street. Expect many vendors, food trucks, kid games, blow ups, and dunk tank. Of course there will be wine, beer, and distillery tasting. Mark your calendars and enjoy the Summer Fest with us.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Service King for making and donating new signage for the cemetery. They are beautiful and will help the identification of loved ones at Stroud. Thank you, Lanissa Hughes and all the other super employees at Service King for making this vision a reality. We can’t thank you enough for all you do!
The Department of Wildlife has released the first phase of stocking the pond at Faster Park. They have released mostly perch as a feeder fish for the sport fish that will be released later this fall.
Anouther good news for Foster Park is we were awarded the T-set Discovery Grant which will become available in August. It is a two-year grant that will amount to $198,000. We plan to stretch that as far as you can possibly imagine for improvements at the park.
There are a lot of good things going on in town. It’s a good time to be from Stroud!
